How loud do you want to get?

Distance is no object for a dog who digs tunnels - or for an Octopus with eight arms!

I can bring the adventure directly to your school hall, library - or beam it straight to your whiteboard from anywhere in the world.

Whether you are down the street or across the ocean, we make sure the connection is loud and clear.

How would you like to meet us?

The "Big Wiggle" Storytime
(30 - 45 mins)

Best for: Nursery & Reception
A high-energy interactive reading of Dig Bono Dig or Ibby’s Big Wiggle. We use puppets, props, and music to bring the story to life. The children won’t just listen; they’ll be digging, swimming, and helping the characters solve problems.

Includes: Storytelling, Q&A, and a "Wiggle Dance" finale.

The "World Explorer" Workshop
(60 mins)

Best for: Year 1 - Year 2
We start with the story, then we grab our imaginary passports! We talk about the real places Bono visits (Tanzania, Egypt, Scotland). We look at maps, talk about different cultures, and the children design their own "Impossible Journey" for a character of their choice.

Focus: Geography, Creative Writing, and Cultural Curiosity.

Bono on the Big Screen (Virtual Visit)

Best for: Schools anywhere in the world!
Can’t get to me? I’ll come to you via the magic of the internet.

A lively Zoom/Teams session involving a reading, a behind-the-scenes look at how a book is made, and a Q&A where kids can ask anything (even "Do you eat worms?").

Bring the wiggle to your playgroup

Best for: Playgroups, Nursery Stay-and-Plays, and Birthday Parties.
Let’s be honest: asking a room full of two-year-olds to sit still for 20 minutes is an impossible mission. So, we don't ask them to!

Lavina’s visits for Toddler Groups and "Mummy & Me" classes are designed for short attention spans and wiggly legs. We mix short, punchy storytelling with songs, puppets, and bubbles to keep the "mini-explorers" engaged (and give the parents a chance to drink a hot coffee while we entertain the troops).

Story Adventures at the library

Best for: Community Book Readings, Summer Reading Challenges, Local Festivals, and Library Open Days.

Lavina’s community events are designed to be big, bold, and family-friendly. We specialize in entertaining mixed-age crowds—keeping the three-year-olds wiggling while engaging the six-year-olds with cool facts about the world. It’s less of a "quiet reading circle" and more of a "family mini-festival."

WHY TEACHERS LOVE THESE VISITS
It’s not just fun; it’s learning in disguise. My sessions support the curriculum by focusing on:

  • Literacy & Vocabulary: Understanding story structure and "doing words" (verbs).
  • Understanding the World (Geography): sparking curiosity about other countries and environments (Savannah vs. Ocean).
  • SEL (Social-Emotional Learning): Discussing friendship, bravery, and it being okay to be different (like a dog who wants to travel or an octopus who wants to cook).

I know, I know. You have questions.

The kids want to know if Bono eats worms (answer: sometimes), but you probably want to know about risk assessments, technology, and timing.

Let’s answer the grown-up questions so we can get back to the fun stuff.

Here is everything you need to know:

Do we need to prepare anything ahead of time?

Just a space big enough for some wiggling!

  • I bring the books, the music, and the energy.
  •  (A glass of water is always appreciated—digging is thirsty work!)
Can we order books and CD's for the kids?
  • Absolutely. I can provide an order form for parents in advance, and I will happily stay after the session to sign and dedicate every single copy.
  • Alternatively, they will be able to access my digital sales page
  • I am happy to discuss discounts on volume purchases
How many children can you handle at once?
  • I am happy to work with a single class (approx. 30 explorers) for a more intimate, workshop-style session where everyone gets to talk. However, if you want the "Big Wiggle" experience, I can take a whole year group or assembly! Just remember: more kids = more noise (and more fun).
Do the teachers need to stay in the room?
  • Yes, please! Think of yourselves as my Co-Pilots.
  • While I am great at keeping them entertained, I need you there to help manage the excitement and—most importantly—to enjoy the adventure with them! You might even learn a new dance move or two.
